Douglas Tisdale, MD (view more info) Douglas Tisdale, MD, received his medical degree from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, completed his Internship and Residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, MA, and his Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at Boston University Medical Center in Boston, MA. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and the American Medical Association. He has spoken nationally and has been published in peer reviewed journals. Dr Tisdale is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. |

Mary A. Voltz, MD (view more info) Mary A. Voltz, MD, received her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts in Worcester and completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Miriam Hospital/Brown University Program in Medicine in Providence, Rhode Island. She completed her fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the Brown University Fellowship Program in 1990 and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. She is a Diplomate of the National Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the American Medical Association. As Medical Oncologists, Dr. Posner and Dr. Voltz specialize in diagnosis and treatment of cancer and coordinate the overall care provided to cancer patients including chemotherapy and related treatments. |

Cynthia Arcieri, MS, RN, OCN, CHPN Cynthia Arcieri, MS, RN, OCN, CHPN, received her B.S. in Nursing and her M.S. in Nursing Education from Rivier College in Nashua, NH. She is certified in Oncology Nursing as well as Hospice and Palliative Care and is a national trainer for the ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Course. As the Director of Oncology Services, Ms. Arcieri oversees inpatient and outpatient oncology services including physician practices, nursing and patient care services, the infusion and intervention units, and clinical trials. Ms. Arcieri’s previous experiences includes Clinical Nurse Manager of both the inpatient and outpatient oncology units and Clinical Trials Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, and oncology nurse on the bone marrow transplant unit at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Currently, Ms. Arcieri oversees numerous community services for people with cancer and presents locally and nationally on oncology and nursing issues. |

Paula Drake, AOCN, ARNP (view more info) Paula Drake completed her training as a Registered Nurse at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts and received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Rivier College in Nashua. She has been an Oncology Certified Nurse for 11 years. As a Nurse Practitioner, certified in Oncology Nursing, Ms. Drake diagnoses and treats the side effects of chemotherapy and other cancer-related treatments, assess pain control and adjust medications for maximum pain relief. She collaborates with physicians and oncologists as necessary. |

Lisa Kennedy Sheldon, PhD, ARNP, AOCNP (view more info) Lisa Kennedy Sheldon received her PhD from the College of Nursing at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, with a concentration in cancer control and research. The author of several books and articles, Dr. Sheldon's program of research focuses on patient-provider communication and nursing care delivery. As a certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Sheldon provides direct care to cancer patients being treated at St. Joseph Hospital. She delivers educational programs to health care providers and the community, and presents nationally on nursing issues, oncology care, and communication research. |

The Comfort of Our Support Services and On-site Pharmacists
When dealing with cancer, diagnosis
and treatment are only half the battle.
Supporting the patient and family emotionally, educating and encouraging them
are the other half. At St. Joseph Hospital, we do that in so many ways. We offer a
wide range of education and support programs, pain and symptom management
programs, Circle-of-Life palliative programs and hospice care, as well as nutritional,
psychiatric and social services. We even offer a unique one-on-one program that
matches current cancer patients with former patients to offer support and guidance
to them and their families as they go through treatment.
Dealing with cancer can make you feel so alone. Our support
services assure you theres someone with you every step of the way.
